Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Personal Response

Fiction

Inspiring

Enticing

I think that this novel easily captures a readers attention because of the engaging storyline. This novel kept making me wanting to read it even more. The character Lena, who faces many challenges in life started out as an innocent, happy, and loving girl to a fearless, stronger, and cunning lady after she met a boy who she was forbidden to be with, Alex. This book takes place in Portland, where people have to undergo a procedure that will cure them from "love" and if they do not, then they are sent to the Crypts where they will be trapped in cells until the day they die. This book was filled with emotional tensity and keeps the reader wanting to know what would happen next. This book is great, and twists into a new direction every few pages. It is a very exhilarating novel to read, and I would recommend it to anyone.
