A mysterious man shows up near the Kings' new house, and seems very content in standing creepily outside and staring in at the family. They soon find out that this man has a significant amount of power and money, and he soon makes it very clear that he wants the house for his own. The reason why, no one has a clue. But he wants the house, and he will stop at nothing to get it, leaving the King family in ruin.
Watcher in the Woods is the second in a series of six. Just like it's prequel, it is very strange and creepy, but overall has an awesome concept and draws the audience in like gravity draws an apple from it's tree to the ground below. Robert Liparulo dives deeper into the character traits of the King family, and airs more on the emotional side of things in this one, while keeping the harsh, dramatic edge on the book. Scary stuff lurks in the dark corners of this house, deep in the shadows where no one dares look for fear of finding the truth.
This book definitely lives up to it's original, while spinning more twists into the mix, throwing everything you thought you knew about the House of Dark Shadows into a blender, and blends it all up, without putting a lid on top of the blender, sending pieces everywhere, leaving the reader to go and recollect his/her thoughts. Another wild ride, another sleepless night!
