Ruthless by Sara Shepard

Suspenseful, dramatic, captivating

Fiction, Drama

The book Ruthless is the tenth book in the Pretty Little Liars series. The author, Sara Shepard has once again brought us back to the conniving, complicated and suspenseful lives of Emily, Aria, Hanna and Spencer. Once again the four liars get involved into more turmoil, drama and danger. Sara Shepard does an amazing job of adding twists into the plot and adding more issues to put into the lives of the four girls. She does another good job at finding the right places to add some comic relief.

With the frightful threats from their stalker A, the threats always remain original and terrifyingly knowing of events which were more secret than public. I love how she manages to keep you on your toes and even manage to spark a few goosebumps from the creepy messages.

Throughout the story I remained on my toes with moments of surprise, sadness and suspense. It is not as action filled as some of the other books in the story, but it delves into a new conflict and creates a new one. A lot of the book has to do with an act of desperation that the girls were a part of in their past and the guilt that they now have to deal with. It shows a deeper part of the characters with how they have to deal with their conscience.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. Which is the same way that I have felt throughout the entire series. In my opinion, the best part about the novels of the Pretty Little Liars series is that every time you think it's over, it really isn't. This novel continues along with those lines. I'm looking very much forward to the continuation of the series and can't wait to read the next one! Amazing job Sara Shepard!
