While reading this novel, I was able to connect to the main character as he struggled to fit in with his family as well as social life. In the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll, there are many temptations and influences in your life, I feel like as Charlie attempted to grow up and try to forget about his painful path he found himself. In order to cope with what had happened to him in his past, as well as the fact that he is friendless, he begins to write notes to an anonymous reader (evidently you). In these letters, Charlie confesses his deepest desires and secrets. In this book, you are able to grow with him, learn with him and experience a new friendship.
