The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
Imaginative, Passionate, Captivating
Fiction
Fantasy, Action
Plot Preview
Gandalf, an old wizard, delivers a ring to a hobbit named Frodo. With this ring in his hand,Frodo is tasked with destroying the ring, as it has the power to corrupt and bring about the destruction of peace in Middle Earth.
Personal Response
The Fellowship of the Ring was a very intriguing book because of the vibe you are getting from the story itself. The vibe that it is giving off is a very fantasy-like and imaginative feeling that pulls you into the book. You are not just being pulled into the story, but into the perspective of the characters and everything that they see, do, touch or hear. It is very middle aged in the sense of the year when the story takes place. Since this is one part to a trilogy, it shows that there is a lot of content to be soaked in and that there is more to imagine as you continue to read. The book gets you to visualize what is currently occurring in the story and what they feel. If someone went off to fight in a war, you would imagine what they must be feeling or what is going through their mind. This book is good for those who enjoy reading series novels rather than individual novels and it is a very action packed novel itself. Unfortunately, I cannot elaborate on this topic because it would reveal some of the plot for some who actually want to read the novel. The book formed a connection with me while I was reading it and it was that when life wants you to take something, take it and if you can't, try to take it yourself. Overall it is a very action packed and very captivating for me to read.
